Tonight, teeny-bopper heartthrob and Twitter star Justin Bieber tries to get tough as a bad guy on the eleventh season premiere of “CSI.” In the episode, entitled “Shock Waves,” the Biebs — in his acting debut — plays a character named Jason McCann, who is booked by the CSIs after a raid at a community center. He is also alternately described in the press notes as “a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother.
“This is a doozy: Sources confirm that Justin Bieber will not be making another return to ‘CSI’ after he makes his second appearance,” EW writes. “Why? Because his character will be dead. The pop star’s character Jason McCann will meet a violent end at the hand of a CSI, who is acting in self-defense.” More details after the jump.
EW’s intel says Bieber will be shot — a less brutal end than a reported original plan for Biebs to “blow himself up.”
The 16-year-old’s first ‘CSI’ episode was his acting debut. He played Jason, a member of a radical political organization that may have been involved with a bombing at a police funeral. By the end of his two minutes of airtime, Bieber was wearing prison-orange and dishing out a serious glare.
Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber returns to CSI tonight as Jason McCann, a troubled teenager with fantastic hair. We’re not sure what’s going to happen, but returning baddies don’t have a very good record on CSI. (R.I.P., Paul Millander, the Blue Paint Killer, and Dr. Jekyll.) Since it’s fun to imagine things, let’s dream up some elaborate ways to kill off McCann. After all, Bieber’s a busy boy. He doesn’t have time to guest-star on TV shows.
The pop star appeared in the season premiere of “CSI” last September, where his character’s brother was killed. In last night’s episode, “Targets of Obsession,” McCann’s involvement with the CSI team escalates until the police finally catch up to him, and in a glorious last stand, Bieber’s character fires a handgun at a police officer before dropping to the ground in a hail of bullets.
Bieber’s intense appearance on the CBS show caps a week in which the singer was all over the small screen: he performed at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 13), and his hit single “Baby” was performed on Tuesday’s episode of “Glee.”
At least his hair looked good as it happened.
Justin Bieber finished off his multi-episode run on “CSI” with a bang, getting shot and killed by furious police fire. He was no innocent, however, as he played a trouble teen who shot at the police first during a big standoff.
At least he had a better bit of luck on the big screen this weekend — his movie, “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” made over $30 million.
