Lindsay Lohan admits her sobriety has suffered a major blow – but she’s trying to get back on track.
In a series of Twitter messages, the 24-year-old substance-abusing starlet said she failed a court-ordered drug test – reportedly for cocaine – less than a month after her release from rehab.
“Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before Judge (Elden) next week as a result,” Lohan wrote to her 1.1 million followers.
Fox could return Lohan to jail based on the failed test. LiLo did 14 days for probation violations before her Aug. 2 release, followed by 23 days in the rehab.
She remains on probation until next August. Lohan did not specify what drug caused her failed test.
“Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away overnight,” Lohan wrote. “I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day.”
Lohan conceded the drug test was “certainly a setback for me,” but expressed confidence she could get back to sober living.
“I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that I am trying hard but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else,” she said.
“I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful … Thank you all!!!”
